CHA Winter 2013

(Cre8time picture by the fabulous Alexa Westerfield at iLoveToCreate)

Remember I told you you'd need a second giant pot of coffee?  Well, now's the time.  A snifter of wine works too...I'm just sayin'!  I would love to give you a detailed report from CHA Winter 2013 replete with a bevy of new product reviews and lots of crafty gossip, but the truth is...

...I was working most of the show so there wasn't much time to walk the aisles and hunt for new goodies.  I barely even made it to the New Product showcase.  Do forgive.  There are lots and lots of blog posts from lots and lots of crafters with the 411 on what's hot and new.  I had one hour to take as many pics as I could before the show closed.  My lovely daughter Avalon reluctantly followed me around with her iPhone 5 and snapped pics.  Not two hours later she was stricken with the horrific norovirus, which meant an extra day in Anaheim and not for the Teacup Ride.  Mostly just for the cookie tossing.  Hooray.

I almost went full metal meltdown when the customer service rep from United Airlines told us it would be $1200.00 to change our tickets for the next day, but a second call to an agent who was smart enough to not want a highly contagious virus on the airplane charged us $225.00.  Thank you, nicer agent and Facebook friends who talked me down from the ledge.  Always get a second opinion!

(If you'd like to contribute to the Potter Family Norovirus Travel Fund, check out our limited edition Miss Madge's Ma(d)gical Mystery (Vintage) Craft Boxes...only $25.00 for a small Priority Box FILLED with vintage craft goodies and we have a smallish smattering of our original Madge's Mystery Craft Supplies Boxes left!)

So, here is my photo montage.  There are absolutely no pics of me doing make and takes for ImpressArt or teaching my class for  I swear I did both.  No, really. Scout's honor!  I saw so many more fabulous folks and had so much more fun, trust me.  TAG ME, FOLKS! I really need a photographer, make up artist, hair stylist, umbrella handler and crafty entourage.

Le sigh.  And yes, as you can see, I managed to stuff myself into every picture.  Good lorrrrddddy Louise.

Three products I can rave about are mr. tim holtz' fab new Distress Paint for Ranger, which works like a charm on slick surfaces like metal, glass and plastic!  It comes in Madge colors too!  He kindly gave me three bottles for my make and takes.  Thanks, mr. tim!  The Dynamic Crafty Duo Cathie and Steve from HGTV's Creative Juice have a fantastic new faux resin called Mod Melts that comes in sticks for your glue gun with molds to make dimensional accents!  And my gal pal Miss Julianna Hudgins has patented an ingenious palm sized beading loom called the Jewel Loom! Oh and thank you to FaveCrafts for a fabulous blogger event, and to all of the manufacturers who gave us so much sensational swag!  HOORAY!  More to come on that front...but for!   Oh and before I go, BIG LOVE to Haley Pierson-Cox of The Zen of Making for featuring my Folk Art Chic necklace on Craftzine!  xoxoxoxoxoxo!

I think one Madge is sufficient, don't you?  (Split Pic App for iPhone)
