I am wanting to start selling on Etsy and need some advice on how to get people to come of my shop and help me clear out my house with all the things I've been hoarding, or have made and need to find new homes for, and make a little cash to buy even more stuff to hoard! I'd love a little hint.

I'm definitely going to check out this book. I mean, what is the point of doing/knowing something you believe is awesome and/or useful, if others don't know about it. I fully subscribe to the concept of Shameless Self-Promotion! Thanks, Margot!!

MARGOT! I am LOVING the book! It's a perfect blend of my fave literary topics - crafting and self help! I'd say my biggest marketing challenge is something you address in the very beginning of the book, embracing, making light of and letting people see your flaws. Thanks for the chance to win! xoxoxoxox -M

I have a blog & I think my biggest hurdle sometimes is thinking "Why would that company want to work with ME?". I've gotta start believing in myself more (So basically, *I* am my biggest hurdle :))

Working for a company that has been selling decorative feathers online for 10 years. Lamplight Feather, www.tonyhill.net. With the popularity of feathers n the last couple of years, the market has been flooded with competition that we never had before. That, combined with the rising costs and scarcity of the goods, we are having trouble retaining our share of the market.

I am astounded by the vast variety of handcrafted items on etsy! I want to sell on there, but how can I stand out against all of that competition?

croptopiascrapbooking said...

I love blog hops and prizes are always great.

Aleriena Lee said...

I've sold a few of my stuff, but mainly to friends. You think I have worked in retail forever I would at least have a better knowledge of promoting my stuff. I don't and I have so much of my things that needs to go away, but I don't know how to do it. :D Also one of my weakness is I don't charge the correct amount for my handmade things because I'm afraid people won't want to pay that much for it. :/
